Purpose of Role:

Project Engineering is responsible for the management of Capital procurement projects for Operations and R&D within Xaar. Projects can take the form of technically advanced bespoke automated production & test equipment. Critical to the success of Xaar’s manufacturing facility, Project Engineering will undertake the specification, supplier selection and project co-ordination for Production tools throughout design, build and validation phases of projects. Project engineering will also take the lead in the supply of R&D and test equipment using the same methodology and accountability. New equipment projects are run alongside upgrades of existing tools, the retrofit of current technology to legacy equipment or software and hardware upgrades in support of the product development roadmap of the business.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills that enable successful coordination of project activities across different functional groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to report project status succinctly, highlighting to management all information that is of particular importance

  • Proactive in nature; takes initiative; foresees problems before they have impact and takes evasive action

Experience:

  • Engineering Degree preferable but not essential
  • Demonstrable experience of Manufacturing/ Engineering - preferably within semi-conductor, medical or other highly automated industries
  • Working knowledge of problem solving techniques e.g. 6 Sigma, 8D, A3 process including Data analysis
  • The Management of complex capital equipment projects including budgets
  • Desirable but not essential is knowledge of optical systems, chemical handling systems, robotic assembly cells, Electrical interconnect equipment & bespoke PC controlled automation and test equipment.

Purpose of Role:

Xaar is the world leader in industrial digital inkjet technology. We are growing our business and have a number of opportunities for conscientious and enthusiastic Production Operators to support the manufacturing process as we further develop our product range. As a Production Operator you will be part of a team who manufacture, assemble and test components, in a cleanroom environment, for Xaar's world leading digital inkjet printheads.

Temporary vacancy

Working alternating day shifts:

Early shift: Monday – Thursday (6am-2.15pm), Friday (6am – 1pm)

Late shift: Monday – Thursday (2pm – 10pm), Friday (12.45pm – 8.45pm)

 

Reporting Relationships:

These roles report to Shift Supervisors

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meeting daily production targets on time and using resources efficiently to minimise waste
  • Assembling/producing components to the required specification by using appropriate tests and inspections so that all work produced meets the requirement of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Complete online documentation and highlight deviations to the appropriate person
  • Identify opportunities for and contribute to continuous improvement of the production process
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Clean and maintain work area as required
  • And any other duties commensurate with the level of the role

  • Willingness to learn new skills, processes or equipment as and when required

 Experience of:

  • Working in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
  • Working in a cleanroom environment would be advantageous
  • Operating CNC machinery, chemical handling and electronics manufacture is highly desirable

Purpose of Role:

The overall objective of this regional role is to provide marketing support to Xaar’s business in China and the rest of Asia. The Regional Marketing Specialist work with the Head of Marketing and General Manager Asia to develop the annual marketing plan for China and Asia. In addition, this person will localise and deliver the sales collateral and other tools provided by the Global Marketing team and will focus on maximising Return on Investment.

As this role has a regional remit, it will require an element of domestic travel (around 25%) with occasional foreign travel.

 

Reporting Relationships:

Head of Marketing (Cambridge, UK) with matrix reporting to General Manager, Asia

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver the Asia annual marketing plan
  • Build strong brand perception in China and Asia in Xaar’s key target markets
  • Localise and implement l relevant lead generation campaigns in China and build Wechat followers
  • Provide support to sales, coordinating conferences and trade shows in the region
  • Working with Head of Marketing, develop and implement a PR plan for China and Asia, manage any regional press conferences and be the day to day liaison with the PR agency in China. and press relations to leverage Xaar’s messaging in region in alignment with Head of Marketing
  • To publish a minimum of 2 articles in WeChat per month
  • Manage the Xaar.cn website (launching Q4 2021) including uploading content and managing any required design changes with local agency. Liaise with Global Digital Marketing Specialist.

Purpose of Role:       

The primary purpose of this role is to run various tests on printheads for internal or customer support in accordance with requirements to gather data for product validation and design studies or understanding of customer issue.

Tests must be carried out diligently in accordance with best practice to produce quality data for analysis on a tight timeline.

This requires an ability to understand the fundamental printing process coupled with excellent attention to detail.

The role offers a wide variety of challenges and the chance to make a significant contribution to design and performance of the product.

Purpose of Role:             

To provide confidential administrative support to the Executive Assistant and the senior executives of Xaar.  Providing proactive support, organising travel and associated admin, assisting with calendar scheduling, in-box management and welcoming visitors to HQ.

 

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to the Executive Assistant.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the GM- Printhead across the range of their work.
  • Supporting and covering for the Executive Assistant where necessary.
  • Maintain and organise their diaries and travel/accommodation arrangements, booking internal and external meetings, producing minutes and reports and chasing up on outstanding actions.
  • Coordinate international travel arrangements and transport.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations, reports etc.
  • Attend meetings where necessary.
