The quickest way to develop a system using Xaar technology is to choose from a wide range of Xaar-approved fluids which have been optimised for multiple applications. All these fluids are supplied with optimised waveforms and have been tested and confirmed to be compatible with Xaar’s printhead technology.

All Xaar-approved fluids are supplied with optimised waveforms and have been tested and confirmed to be compatible with Xaar’s printhead technology.

Develop a new fluid for jetting via a Xaar printhead

Customer fluid

An early stage in the process of fluid selection is to perform materials compatibility tests with your fluids. This ensures that the materials used within the printhead and fluid management system will not be affected by your fluid.

We can also analyse the fluid rheology, taking approx. 30 different measurements of your fluid and assessing how well we think the fluid will jet.  We will work with you to provide guidance on how we think the fluid could be modified to improve its jettability.

Xaar optimised waveform

Optimising the printhead waveform for your fluid is key to achieving great print performance. We offer two different services

1. For a fast development time, we can provide a waveform from our library. Using our rheology measurements, we provide you with existing waveforms which are well-matched to your fluid.
2. To achieve the highest print quality we can develop optimised waveforms specifically for your chosen fluid.

You can also combine these two approaches: Use the library waveform to enable you to continue your development whilst we develop the custom waveform. This allows R&D to continue at pace but the end point will be a custom waveform for the best print performance.

Jetting reliability tests

Printed samples can be produced on your substrate to help you understand the quality you could achieve with our solution.

This service also includes a series of tests which confirm the level of jetting reliability that your fluid is capable of achieving.

We can also supply a development kit which includes a printhead, printhead mount, datapath and fluid management system, which are optimised for specific fluids or applications.
