Purpose of Role
To support the Facilities department in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance services, with occasional support provided to other Xaar sites across the UK.
Scale
Conduct and co-ordinate extended tasks and able to provide input to project plans.

Decision making in line with competency in defined discipline and subject to training.

Work to ensure continuous improvement of facilities plant & associated equipment.
Ensure all tasks are carried out within health and safety guidelines.

Able to plan and prioritise own workload over several weeks.
Key Accountabilities
• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance programmes which include LEV, nitrogen, compressed air, DI water, vacuum, BMS and HVAC systems.
• Undertake facilities tasks as required e.g., installation of new services, management of contractors undertaking install and maintenance activities etc.
• Trouble-shoot to resolve maintenance problems on plant and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
• Support the team to deliver projects e.g., changes in layouts, move in and hook up new equipment, upgrade of plant and equipment etc.
• Ensures all Health and Safety procedures are observed and followed, and that colleagues always wear relevant PPE.
• Complete the required reporting for all works.
• Support call-out system.
• Provide occasional support to other Xaar UK sites, which may require travel depending on business needs
About you
Knowledge, experience and qualifications:
• Computer literate, with the ability to use maintenance management systems and basic office software.
• Proven experience in a Facilities, Engineering, or Technician role, ideally in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Able to anticipate and identify problems, using available resources to deliver effective, timely solutions.
• Confident making decisions and taking appropriate action with a sense of urgency.
• Competent to work independently on electrical and/or mechanical systems, including fault-finding and equipment installation.
• Strong understanding of relevant Health & Safety procedures, including RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with internal teams or external contractors.
• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to other Xaar UK sites to support Facilities-related tasks.
Desirable:
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to provide problem solving on both electrical and mechanical plant.
A minimum qualification of Level 3 (C&G/BTEC/NVQ) in electrical or mechanical engineering.
