Scooter Club fun day raises £1,000 for charity
A charity Fun Day hosted by the Totally Unstable Scooter Club at Ely Football Club on Saturday 21st June has raised £500 for local charity, Break. Thanks to a matched donation from Cambridge-based company Xaar, the total contribution doubled to £1,000 for the support of young people in and leaving care.
The event welcomed more than 160 attendees throughout the day and evening.
Roger Taylor, R&D Engineer at Xaar, said: “The Fun Day at Ely Football Club was a fantastic event enjoyed by all. It was great to see so many people come together in support of such an important cause.
“The joint contributions from the Totally Unstable Scooter Club and Xaar are a great example of how local communities and businesses can work together to make a difference.”
Break, based in East Anglia, has been Xaar’s charity partner since 2022. The organisation is dedicated to transforming the lives of young people in and leaving care across the East of England, providing essential support and opportunities. To date, Xaar has contributed over £100,000 in support of Break’s work.
