Purpose of Role
To work in partnership with managers, senior stakeholders and the broader HR team to help co-create, implement and embed the Company people strategy and ensure Xaar has the organisational capability needed to achieve its objectives.
Scale
Provides business partnering services to designated areas of the business.
Freedom to make decisions
- Advise line managers on all areas of employment law and practice and supports line managers to develop people plans for areas of responsibility in line with the people strategy.
- Contributes to the development of people plan and policy.
- Seeks advice from line manager on complex cases
Complexity
- Provide services to multiple departments, and stakeholders, both in the UK and at global locations.
- Works across different departments
- Balance operational demands with the need for longer term planning and thinking
- Balance operational demands with people policy, best practice and employment law
Planning Horizon
- Mostly working to a set of annual targets

Key Accountabilities
On a typical day you’ll be expected to:
- Partner with the senior stakeholders in customer base to implement the Xaar People strategy

Work with senior stakeholders and managers to ensure that Xaar policies, tools and processes, are fully embedded within the business areas

Work in partnership with the HR team to develop the Xaar people strategy, policies, tools and processes.

Manage the organisational design and annual workforce plan for business areas in line with the overall company plan.

Providing expert and accurate HR advice to assist and coach line managers in increasing the performance of their teams and in managing business change effectively

To lead HR input to business and HR change projects as required

Proactively improve HR processes for greater efficiency eg recruitment, payroll

To support the business in achieving its people targets (KPI’s) and metrics, including employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, talent planning, succession planning and attendance.

To lead the management of employee relations cases e.g. disciplinary and grievances across the relevant areas to ensure cases are managed in a legally compliant way, within determined timescales and with the correct outcome for the business

To support senior leaders in developing interventions to improve employee engagement using insight from sources including employee survey, exit interviews and other sources of insight.

To ensure managers have the tools and capability to manage absence in the business areas to ensure targets are met and the wellbeing of our colleagues is maintained and protected.

Deliver required metrics to provide tangible evidence to the business in relation to progress in embedding people management and employee engagement issues.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications
- Graduate level education desirable
- 3 + Years experience as an HRBP
- CIPD qualified is desirable
- Experience as an HR Business Partner within manufacturing/Engineering would be a bonus
- Excellent IT (Microsoft) and HR systems Cascade and RM would be a plus
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities whilst delivering an effective operational HR service.
Skills and Behaviours
- An established HR Business Partner with knowledge and experience of contributing to the development of a people strategy, policy and implementing with a customer base.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of the employee lifecycle, preferable gained in a manufacturing or technical environment. Experience of working with an Operations and Manufacturing customer base is desirable but not essential.
- Experience of managing change
- Experience of operating as an HR Business Partner contributing positively and effectively to team goals and encouraging collaborative team spirit, motivating and supporting others.
- Effective communicator at all levels
- Developed employee relations experience in a non-unionised environment.
