Specialist UV coatings printed onto new generation batteries for electric cars, energy storage and other applications, produce a functional layer which provides shear strength and electrical isolation.

​Thanks to Xaar's Ultra High Viscosity Technology, Xaar eX series can jet up to 100 cPs, the highest in current piezo based inkjet solution​.

This unique technology enables fluid manufacturers to develop formulations that can deliver improved UV coatings performance, including mechanical robustness, shear and dielectric strength as well as isolation performance.

Ultra High Viscosity Technology makes it possible to jet extra thick coatings for more durability and overall better coating performance.

Bespoke waveforms are tailored to the specific characteristics of the high-viscosity coatings used in new generation batteries, ensuring optimal drop formation and placement. This leads to superior print quality with uniform coating layers. Common print defects which might occur are avoided.

Improved coating adhesion and battery performance

If pressure limits are exceeded and jetting stops, thanks to TF Technology, the fluid flow through the printhead ensures a fast recovery without the need to stop printing
