How Xaar’s inkjet fluid development process is fast-tracking, cost effective innovation
At Xaar, we believe that innovation should be driven by real world industry pain points and challenges. That’s why the latest updates to our inkjet fluid development and optimisation process were created with one simple goal in mind: to make inkjet adoption faster, easier and more cost effective for our customers.
Over the years, we’ve worked closely with OEMs and manufacturers across a range of industries and applications, and we started to receive feedback that the inkjet fluid development journey can be too complex, time-consuming and expensive. We heard that our customers wanted a more seamless way to validate fluids, optimise performance and get to market quickly without compromising on quality or innovation. So, we listened.
Our newly enhanced inkjet fluid development process is designed to remove the traditional barriers to adoption. Whether you're using one of our pre-approved fluids or developing your own, we’ve created a flexible, scalable pathway that puts you in control while reaping the benefits of our longstanding inkjet expertise and trusted technology.
Three pathways, one goal
We’ve structured our process around three clear development pathways, each tailored to different project needs:
1. Ready to go
For those who want the fastest route to market, we offer a wide range of Xaar-approved fluids, each supplied with optimised waveforms and confirmed compatibility with our printheads. These fluids have already been tested and validated for various applications, meaning you can integrate them into your system easily, with minimal fuss.
We also understand you might want to see results before committing, so here we can provide printed samples on your substrate and even supply development kits to help you hit the ground running.
2. Fast-track your development
If you’re working with your own fluid but want to accelerate development, we can match it with a waveform from our extensive library.
Using detailed rheology analysis, we identify the best waveform to get you started – while our team works in parallel to develop a fully optimised version. This dual-track approach keeps your R&D momentum going without any unnecessary delays.
3. Optimise your development
If you need something bespoke, we’ve still got you covered. Our comprehensive service includes materials compatibility testing, rheology measurements, jetting diagnostics and custom waveform development, ensuring your fluid performs at its best, reliably and repeatably.
Optional extras include printed sample production, jetting reliability tests, tailored development kits and ongoing support to help you optimise and deploy your Xaar-based printing system with confidence.
One of our partners, Inkatronic, saw firsthand how our new process can transform inkjet fluid development timelines. By using Nazdar’s pre-approved water-based high viscosity fluids and leveraging our in-house print trials, they validated print performance for their wood panel application in under a month, without any upfront investment.
This streamlined approach helped Inkatronic deliver samples faster and with greater confidence and they are already exploring more applications using Xaar technology.
Speed, performance and cost-efficiency are critical in today’s competitive landscape. However, our enhanced inkjet fluid development process is designed to help you innovate faster, reduce risk and stay ahead of the curve – all while maintaining full control over your development journey.
Whether you’re validating a concept or scaling a disruptive print or manufacturing solution, we’re here to unleash the power of inkjet by making its adoption as easy as possible.
