Technical Stage – Tuesday November 12, 2019

Printhead Technology session

Digital inkjet technology: how to make sweet music with an inkjet printhead

To some people, the inkjet printhead is like a small musical instrument. You can tune it to perfection and achieve a harmonious sound, or, in the case of the printhead, it is jetting stable and accurately placed drops of fluid. Alternatively, without the tuning, you could easily play a few wrong notes.

This presentation will provide an insight into what it takes to perfectly tune an inkjet printhead when integrating it into a printer. It will highlight some of the considerations that have to be made and options for optimisation that might be used in order to make the printhead ‘sing’.

Gary Jenno at 4:00-4:30pm

Applications Stage – Thursday November 14, 2019

From Machine Integration to Implementation session

Pushing the boundaries of inkjet with Xaar technology

Speed, Quality and Opacity – these three key requirements are shared over a number of digital printing applications where the need for more is always being pursued. In this presentation, Gary Jenno, Segment Business Manager at Xaar, will talk about what is being done to push these perceived limits and how our partners are able to exploit the outstanding print capabilities of the established Xaar 2001+ printhead. Making reference to recent, real world examples, this talk will show how Xaar’s printhead technology enables such success, from TF Technology ink recirculation which supports the printing of high viscosity, large particle fluids with high solids loading, to new system architectures which enable high frequency and hence fast line speed printing.
