Employee profiles

Kirsty Brearley, Shift Supervisor

I joined Xaar in June 2016 as a Production Operator. Having previously worked in a retail environment, I was keen to have a new challenge in a different field. As a Production Operator I am expected to follow standard procedures but it is encouraged that we give feedback to different areas of the business in order to drive continuous improvement. From this I have been involved in several projects which have helped to streamline processes and have resulted in a visible cost saving to the business. I enjoy working as a part of team, supporting each other to find solutions to challenges and in delivering our numbers.

Through working with people from a variety of experience levels and backgrounds, along with Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) training, I have learnt several processes and developed various transferable skills. I am keen to progress my career in Xaar and so always welcome the opportunity for learning new processes and developing my understanding of the products we produce. I like to know how my current role fits in to the company as a whole and how this can lead to further progression. With our expanding product range and industry collaborations, the future opportunities for Xaar are very exciting.

Matt Sinclair, Senior Finance Business Partner

As the Senior Management Accountant at Xaar, I am responsible for leading and developing the FP&A team. Through analysis, reporting, and financial projections, it is our role to provide the business with the information it needs to make key decisions.

I joined Xaar in 2015 as an Assistant Management Accountant, having previously worked in the not-for-profit sector. I was initially attracted to Xaar due to its highly regarded reputation within Cambridge and its ambitious plans for future growth.

Life at Xaar is one that is both challenging, but extremely rewarding. The work is fast paced, and every day is always different to the previous. From the CEO, to the R&D engineers, it’s the people that really make Xaar a special place to work. Everyone trusts each other in the work they are doing and we are all constantly pulling together to make Xaar’s vision a reality.

From my perspective, Xaar’s future looks bright. The company has a couple of game changing products currently in development and a vision that everyone believes in. I look forward to continuing to work, and develop here, and helping the Xaar achieve its goals.
