Purpose of Role

To provide leadership and expertise in order to implement and maintain suitable quality management systems across the business.

Scale

  • Responsible for QMS across all agreed areas of Xaar UK

Freedom to make decisions

  • Freedom to architect the quality management system across Xaar UK within the bounds of ISO certification
  • Influences and advises the organisational functions on the deployment actions of the Quality Management System

Complexity

  • Managing different stakeholders, internally and externally, requiring strong persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Work across different sites and cultures
  • Driving business systems improvements across different business areas with varying workloads and priorities

Planning horizon

  • Delivery of annual Quality Management System goals and improvements to achieve continued certification
  • Accountability for a 3 year plan aligned with business objectives

Key Accountabilities

On a typical day you’ll be expected to:

  • Develop, maintain and integrate quality management systems that ensure adherence to established quality standards appropriate to products manufactured and developed by Xaar including ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Provision of technical expertise and leadership in the improvement and maintenance of quality management systems
  • The management, facilitation and supervision of internal and external quality audits
  • To support a culture of and maintain a programme of continuous improvement of the management systems
  • To be familiar with regulatory affairs and ensure that quality policy and procedures comply with external regulations and standards
  • To train colleagues as required in systems and processes
  • To analyse and report on key metrics and raise any concerns to the Executive team and others with proposed actions for improvement
  • To budget and control the costs of quality management

 

About you

Knowledge, experience and qualifications:

List key requirements of the position including knowledge, skills, abilities, and qualifications.

  • Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline (engineering, science or business)
  • Qualification in Quality Auditing
  • Significant exposure and practice in a manufacturing business
  • Proven experience in the implementation and management of Quality Systems within manufacturing with a track record of successful implementation and results
  • Strong understanding of high quality New Product Introduction processes and the importance of the R&D/Manufacturing interface
  • Experienced in continuous improvement, closed loop problem solving and team leadership techniques
  • A technical understanding of developing technologies appropriate to the business
