XAAR and Invint Limited of East Kilbride, leaders in the application of conductive polymers to interconnect applications, today announced an agreement to jointly pursue opportunities in the printed electronics segment.
Through this agreement the companies will pool expertise in the printing market (XAAR) and the application of innovative interconnect methods and materials (Invint) to significantly grow the adoption of new manufacturing techniques in the electronics market.
"We believe that the coincidence of reliable ink-jet printing technology with the latest conductive inks and polymers enables a new level of customisation and cost-effectiveness in emerging applications in a variety of segments" said Nigel Berry, Deputy CEO of XAAR.
"We are delighted that we are able to share expertise and resource with XAAR, whom we recognise as market leaders in their field, and who will help us address the increasing convergence of conventional printing technologies with the electronics manufacturing segment" commented Bill Matthews, Managing Director of Invint Limited.
INVINT was founded to work with hardware, software and materials partners to develop innovative and cheaper manufacturing techniques for interconnect applications. Interconnect is a $40 Billion industry that provides the 'glue' that joins components together in consumer, defense, industrial and automotive electronics.
INVINT owns and develops intellectual property in the use of alternative materials and processes in the segment. INVINT technology is delivered to market by a number of methods, from samples costing a few dollars, through consultancy programs, to large technology licensing programs. http://www.invint.com
