Leading international printhead manufacturer and inkjet solutions provider, Xaar, is showcasing its extensive range of inkjet printheads, peripherals and approved inks ideally suited to the Indian market. On show will be Xaar’s new OmniDot printhead range, with the now industry-standard XJ128 printhead demonstrated on the stand in two Indian OEM wide-format solvent printers. In addition, Xaar is announcing at the show the signing of an agreement with Triangle to sell solvent ink approved by Xaar as compatible with the XJ128 printhead and formulated specifically for use in India.
With a rapidly growing installed base of Xaar-based printers in the region, this agreement is a key step in supporting Xaar inkjet printhead users moving forward. “We are very excited to be attending PrintPack India 2005 this year for the first time,” says Hugh Baker-Smith, Sales Director, Xaar. “We believe the Indian market presents immense opportunities for inkjet technology and will be a key player in the next phase of the inkjet industry’s global development. The opening of our new Indian office in New Delhi in November reflects what Xaar sees as a vibrant future for inkjet in the region and our attendance at this show is the next step in our drive to increase the awareness and uptake of Xaar’s technology in India.”
At PrintPack, Xaar is showcasing its exciting new OmniDot next generation printhead family comprising of the OmniDot 760 greyscale printheads and the robust OmniDot 380 binary printhead. In addition, details of Xaar’s latest high-specification addition to the XJ500 product family - the XJ500/180 CM, will available at the show. Boasting an 80% increase in speed compared to the standard XJ500 model, the XJ500/180 CM has been specifically developed for secondary packaging and outer-case coding applications.
Indian company, Macart Equipment Ltd will be running its new 1.5 metre StarJet wide format solvent printer, incorporating four Xaar XJ128 heads on the stand, alongside New Delhi-based Printek Engineering’s new KGN-4233 machine, a 3.2 metre-wide solvent printer using eight XJ128 heads. Says Mr Baker-Smith: “Both companies are excellent examples of the success of Xaar’s customer-focused philosophy in emerging markets for inkjet technology.
We understand that each country and market sector has a set of unique conditions and always aim to work as closely as possible with local OEMs and inkjet innovators to develop market-specific solutions. “At PrintPack India we are encouraging all those interested in digital printing technologies to drop by the stand and discuss how Xaar can work with OEMs at a local level –to transform their business offering with inkjet technology. We have already seen –significant local demand for Xaar-based products from a number of domestic inkjet innovators – two of whom we have on the stand at PrintPack India - and our attendance at the show is the next logical step in building up our presence in India.”
Xaar will also be showing its new range of peripherals for use in production machines – the Xaar Print Control System and Xaar Ink Supply System - devised to enable, assist and support the production of high-specification inkjet printing machines. Based on a PCI card format, the Print Control System drives a series of electronic boards using optical fibres to link the cards and the printheads. This system is extremely flexible - between one and 48 printheads can be driven at any time –offering Xaar’s customers a modular build approach, and it supports Xaar’s XJ126, XJ500, Leopard, OmniDot and future printhead products.
The Xaar Ink Supply System provides a controlled path between the central reservoir of ink and the printheads, to ensure reliable jetting.
