At drupa 2004, Xaar plc, is pleased to announce its latest high-specification addition to the XJ500 product family - the XJ500/180 CM. Boasting an 80% increase in speed compared to the standard XJ500 model, the XJ500/180 CM has been specifically developed for the coding and marking market - secondary packaging and outer-case applications.
The XJ500/180 CM is unique - offering an 80pl drop-size, a 7.2KHz firing frequency and linear speed greater than one metre per second - its specifications have been enhanced, but its physical size and form remain the same as the standard XJ500, making it an ideal upgrade for coding and marking and packaging printers looking to embrace new and faster markets.
Max Shone, printhead product manager at Xaar comments, “We are delighted to unveil our latest edition to the XJ500 printhead product range at drupa 2004. The XJ500/180 CM will be manufactured at our production facility in Sweden, which has seen over £2 million of new investment to facilitate development and production of current and next generation inkjet technology. The XJ500/180 CM printhead sits within the popular and established XJ500 series, and our investment in it has seen an 80% increase in speed, which is significant to our products moving forward.”
He continues, “Part of our strategy is to add value to existing customers by pushing product performance boundaries and helping them develop new markets and enhanced propositions for existing technologies. To do this successfully, we are focussing on our premium products, creating printheads which cater for a variety of applications.”
A range of inks has also been made available by Xaar for use with the XJ500/180 CM printhead, including oil-based for coding and marking and other packaging applications.
