Gold sponsorship for third year helps raise awareness of inkjet to the next generation of the print industry

Inkjet is the fastest growing print technology and, as a leading printhead manufacturer, Xaar actively supports programmes to educate the next generation about its potential and applications. Through its sponsorship of the PrintIT! initiative, a major industry-backed programme designed to teach Year 9 and Year 10 pupils about the world of printing and related industries, Xaar hopes to increase inkjet awareness and inspire the inkjet innovators of the future.

Schools taking part in the 2010/11 programme will also receive copies of Xaar’s newly-published ‘Industrial Inkjet for Dummies’ booklet which provides an easy to understand overview of the technology.

About PrintIT!
Launched in 2005, PrintIT! is the industry-wide educational initiative aimed to attract young people to consider a future career in print. As part of the curriculum-based PrintIT! course, students are challenged to create a print-based campaign. Aiming to promote the many varied and stimulating career paths available within the print industry, the PrintIT! competition was extended in 2008 to include Year 9 students (aged 13-14) as well as Year 10 students (aged 14-16) studying for their GCSEs in Product Design and Graphic Products. PrintIT! is led by Proskills UK, the sector skills council representing the print and paper industries.
