Xaar plc (“Xaar”), the inkjet printing technology group headquartered in Cambridge, announces the appointment of Robert Eckelmann as a non-executive director, with effect from 1 October 2005.
Mr Eckelmann, 49, started his career with the US Government in the Department of Commerce where he was involved in global trade policy for the science and electronics sector. In 1988 he joined Intel Corporation at an early stage in its development in a role within ‘The office of the President’, before moving to Singapore to launch Intel’s Asian business. He later became VP and General Manager for the whole EMEA region. Mr Eckelmann, a US citizen, holds several European non-executive directorships including Wolfson Microelectronics plc in the UK.

Xaar confirms that there are no items requiring disclosure under sections (2), (4), (5) and (6) of paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules. Pursuant to section (1) of paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules Mr Eckelmann is a non-executive director of Wolfson Microelectronics plc. Pursuant to section (3) of paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules Mr Eckelmann was non-executive chairman of Norwood Systems Ltd, a privately held company placed into administration in October 2004
